everything you need to know

The Process of Craning Out Boats

For craning out of up to 44 boats the club hires two cranes, each of 60 tonne capacity, and provides all labour except for the crane operators.

Both Crane Out and Crane In's are completed in a day.  Weather and river levels permitting, typically c.12th October and 5th April.

However, adverse weather a few weeks before either date, can affect the condition of the field, the water levels of the river and the safety of boat handlers and volunteers.

Therefore, a contingency of a few weeks is built into both crane dates.

SRCC offers the crane out facility to members only.  Members are invited to book crane out slots early each year in August.
